Announces the publication of
The English Essay: A Compendium.
compiled by C. George Sandulescu and edited by Lidia Vianu,
(ISBN 978-606-92388-2-0)
This 400-page Compendium of English Essays lists thirty-four authors. It is a book of non-fiction, a guide to both thinking and writing clearly, compiled for students born in Eastern Europe in the last thirty years or so. It is an attempt at teaching young minds to be honest to themselves when they think. Not to hide behind words.
Compiled by C. George Sandulescu, the volume opens with The Philosophy of Literary Genres: The Essay. He takes as chronological point of reference for the listed authors their 25th year of life, which is the moment their opinions are already largely formed.
The ideas in this book belong to the literary, social, political, historical, moral fields: in other words, discussions are broadly cultural. These essays outline, in detail, all the ideas that haunt the twenty-first century. The volume on the whole is a plea for sincerity of thinking and clarity of expression.
