The Turco-British Association, inline with its constitutional aims, has been organising free-of-charge cultural activities open to the public since 1951. These include concerts, conferences, panel discussions, seminars, drama performances, films and slide shows, all of which contribute to enriching the cultural and artistic life in Ankara.
The activity programmes are held in the 124-seat Auditorium, which is equipped with advanced audio/visual facilities.
Within the cultural programme, “Archaeology and History of Art Seminars” have been continuing in popularity for interested art-lovers, where seminars and workshops are presented by eminent academics, and excursions to many archaeological sites in Anatolia provide a unique opportunity.
The TBA’s Archaeology and History of Art Seminars, which were launched in 1996 as a unique programme, is still the only such activity in Ankara. Two groups of students attend seminars professionally presented by lecturers from various universities. Furthermore, archaeological excursions to ancient cities are organised and led by specialists with expert knowledge of the areas visited to enrich the seminars.
